I had always been skeptical about visiting Bali, my reason is because "it's a little too commercialized."
But my perspective changed after my first visit this year (learned my lesson of never judging a book by its cover ever again, Hahaha)
The Gamelan was the reason for it all!
This happened in Ubud, I and friends with at that time were heading to visit a rice field. on our way, we noticed there was a temple at the side of the road playing the Gamelan. we decided to stop and check them out on our way back. Several children were practicing playing these beautiful melodic instruments. When we stepped into the temple, they were excited and joyfully entertained us.
I was in AWW, with the instruments' melody and the waves of small laughs from the children while they were cheekily checking us out too.
My heart was captured with a feeling that I have never felt before, it was such a beautiful moment and experience.
Watch these cheeky kids in the video below (hope they put a smile on your face as they did mine) and I've shared the details of the place in case you happened to be around there and want to check them out, as, for the timing, it was during sunset.

The next day I was lucky enough to get a chance to watch an actual performance of the "Balinese Gamelan Music and Dance".

They are called CHANDRA WIRABUANA "Gamelan orchestra's music accompanied by Balinese dancers. They perform at 7.30pm every Saturday night behind the Lotus Pond Cafe, Ubud, Bali.

"It is said" that this setting is perhaps the most beautiful in Bali and itself an experience in Balinese architecture and grace.
So, if you are ever in Ubud, Bali. do check them out!
Follow me on Instagram and TikTok to check out my video of the show that I experience, and you should definitely experience it too!
